Indian Fields Farrier
Service, owned by Certified Farrier Darren Owen, was one of the first
multi-farrier services in the Southeast Virginia and Northeast
North Carolina area. Darren has structured the company to minimize
your waits for emergency service or repairs. We provide access to
three farriers with a total of 22 years of experience in their field.
With professional schooling and experience in the many facets of horse
care, we always handle problems with the “team approach"
to horse care- our farriers working together as a team with our clients
and their vets. Read more about our Staff
and examples of our ‘team approach" Success
Stories.
Our
farriers are experienced in the use of state of the art equipment
and techniques for identifying equine issues. We use ONTRACK, a
data collection system used for assistance in Pre-purchase, Lameness
Examinations, Shoeing, Treatment Monitoring, Performance Evaluations
and Gait Analysis. Read more about this revolutionary software on
our ONTRACK page.
Our farriers specialize
in therapeutic shoeing to correct horse lameness. Correct therapeutic
shoeing can fix or at a minimum ease the pain experienced by equine
birth defects or injuries. We specialize also in the use of Soundhorse
Technologies’ Sigafoos Series™ glue-on horseshoes when
faced with problem hooves.
We also
offer a full line of Life Data® Lab products. In
addition
to
the external
care that
horse owners give their horses, the
internal nutritional factors
play an
equally important role in their overall well being. Life Data®
Products
offer the very best in equine nutritional care. We
also carry other fine equine products, such as Premier Equine Health
Products and Keratex Equine Hoofcare products.

This premiere endurance event (100
miles long) is being held June 13-14,
2009 in Orkney Springs, Virginia (northwestern
Virginia). Darren
will be going to represent IFFS, but
the rest of the gang will be staying

One
of Chip's draft horses Bea has found
a new job. She is now helping disabled
veterans at Lonesome
Dove Equestrian Center. Those
vets that can benefit from horseback
riding as therapy now have another
large horse to ride. We wish Bea and
all her students the best of luck.
